Entries for Academic Research Body of the Year must be self-nominated;
This category is open to research groups or individuals in any third-level institution within the Island of Ireland.
Entries should provide detail on a data science project conducted by the body that showcases why they should be Academic Research Body of the Year.
The data science project should have been conducted by the body in the prior 12 – 18 months.
Note: Entries should not provide an overview of multiple projects or try to summarize the academic research body as a whole; we are asking you to present a particular piece of project work in detail, which exemplifies the excellence in your organization. Please review the scoring criteria closely to ensure that your submission is providing all the required detail.

Academic Research Bodies will be scored on a number of different criteria, receiving a score out of 100:
Demonstrate the organizations understanding of the problem, describe the key stakeholders and customers. Document how the project came about, how your organization got it off the ground and how it was funded. [10 Points]
Document the solution developed to solve the problem. Showcase the complexities and challenges in the project and how your organization overcame them. [15 Points]
Describe the data science skills, tools and techniques that were applied in order to deliver this project, in terms of both quantitative analysis of datasets and the application of machine learning for delivering predictions or recommendations. [15 Points]
Detail the team and infrastructure that was required to deliver this project. Was this all in place prior to the project or did your organization need to put it in place to deliver the solution? [15 Points]
Outline the innovation in your solution. What differentiates it from solutions that others may have taken to the same problem. [15 Points]
Describe the return on investment of the project to your organization. What other effects has the project had within your organization? What new opportunities are now available to you? [15 Points]
Describe the vision for data and data science in your organization. Show us why you are the Academic Research Body of the Year. [15 Points]
